UMC has collected and explains terms often used in pharmacovigilance and related sciences. Some of these terms have been defined by cooperation between organizations in the field, such as UMC, WHO, ICH and CIOMS.

WHO-UMC Causality Assessment

A method for causality assessment of the relationship between the intake of a medicine and an adverse reaction often referred to as the ‘WHO method’ is explained here. Various causality terms are in use but the ones in this method are most widely used.
