As a system developer at UMC, you get to apply the latest technologies in an agile environment to create solutions for global users – all the while using your skills to improve global health.
Good healthcare needs great code – that’s why we’re recruiting several system developers to further strengthen our product development capacity. By joining Uppsala Monitoring Centre (UMC), you’ll become part of a truly international organisation driven by a vision of global patient safety.
Our Products & Services department develops and maintains high quality products, tools and services for UMC’s product portfolio. In our development, we follow agile principles, mainly using Microsoft .Net technologies to produce full-stack software-as-a-service solutions.
You’ll work to improve our product portfolio, which contains data-collection and data-analytics tools and a drug-coding engine, to mention just a few. Some technologies you’ll use include Angular and Razor .Net frontends, with C# and F# as backends, and SQL, SOLR and Mongo databases. The drug-coding engine also uses machine learning on Azure.
We are looking for both experienced software developers and newly graduated students willing to grow with us. We need new colleagues who can help us to build medicine safety products adapted to our customers’ needs.
You have a knack for software development and enjoy working in a team. We believe that the agile way of working is natural to you, and we put great importance in your collaborative skills, curiosity, and ability to respond to change. You can balance creativity with usability when developing technical solutions.
As a member of one of our Scrum teams, you’ll have an opportunity to work with the latest technology and skilled co-workers. Together, we aim for continuous improvement to deliver the best possible customer value. With us, team spirit is the key to success, and we build it through social activities and competence development provided by UMC. It’s crucial that you can contribute to an outstanding work environment where you and your colleagues practice and develop your skills by taking on new challenges.
Uppsala Monitoring Centre advances the science of pharmacovigilance and inspires patient safety initiatives all over the world. As an independent, non-profit foundation, we engage stakeholders who share our vision and collaborate to build a global patient safety culture. As a leader in the research and development of new scientific methods, we explore the benefits and risks of medicines to help minimise harm to patients, and we offer products and services used by health authorities and life-science companies worldwide.
Our offices are located at the centre of Uppsala with easy access to restaurants, gyms, and everything the city has to offer. UMC maintains a sustainable work environment with active breaks such as yoga, a pool table and table tennis. We have a 37-hour work week, with flexitime, and offer a generous benefits package, where, for example, exercise is covered by a wellness grant.
The position is full time and based at UMC’s office in Uppsala. UMC follows the agreements between the Swedish Agency for Government Employers and Saco-S and ST.
