UMC is looking for a results-oriented manager with experience to oversee the daily operation for the development and maintenance of the WHODrug Dictionaries.
UMC is a centre for international service and scientific research in the field of pharmacovigilance. The centre is responsible for managing the WHO Programme for International Drug Monitoring, which is a worldwide collaboration of more than 150 countries that share the vision of safer and more effective use of medicines.
PharmaRelations is recruiting a Team Manager to lead the WHODrug & Terminologies team at Uppsala Monitoring Centre (UMC) in Uppsala. The WHODrug & Terminologies team is responsible for development, maintenance, support and training related to WHODrug Global, the world’s foremost source of standardized medicinal product information. The section also performs coding services to ensure that drugs and terminologies on individual case safety reports are identifiable and standardized. This is a newly created position and the WHODrug & Terminologies Team Manager will report to the WHODrug Portfolio Manager.
The Team Manager oversees the daily operational processes for required development and maintenance of the WHODrug Dictionaries to ensure the completeness, accuracy and consistency of the data. The individual should ensure WHODrug goals and objectives by supporting, coaching and mentoring team staff. It also includes interacting with product managers, product owners, line management and IT operations.
Your general responsibilities will be:
• To ensure that budget targets, goals and deadlines are met for the team
• To produce and implement annual work plans for the team, based on UMC goals and driven by identified user needs
• To co-ordinate and prioritise work according to WHODrug user needs and with the interests of UMC in mind
• To lead and develop the operations of the team to achieve their objectives and goals
• To create and maintain well-functioning teams in accordance with UMC values and strategies
• To be responsible for leading and developing the personnel in line with UMC policies.
You have a university/college Bachelor's or Master’s degree in the life sciences, engineering or similar. Further, you have experience from the pharmaceutical industry or CRO or similar, and you should have managerial experience. You are fluent in written and spoken Swedish and English.
You are self-driven and results-oriented with excellent communication skills both internally and externally, and with a clear focus on quality and customer satisfaction. Helping others to perform to the best of their ability motivates you. To be successful, you need to possess strong organizational skills and you can translate strategy into practice. You have a creative and adaptable approach to obstacles with a solution-oriented mindset.
