UMC is a centre for international service and scientific research in the field of pharmacovigilance. The centre is responsible for managing the WHO Programme for International Drug Monitoring which is a worldwide collaboration of more than 150 countries that share the vision of safer and more effective use of medicines.
PharmaRelations is recruiting a Terminology Specialist to be based at Uppsala Monitoring Centre (UMC) in Uppsala. The WHODrug & Terminologies section is responsible for development, maintenance, support and training related to WHODrug Global, the world’s foremost source of standardized medicinal product information. The section also performs coding services to ensure that drugs and terminologies on individual case safety reports are identifiable and standardized.
The Terminology Specialist participates in product maintenance and development related to WHODrug and terminologies as well as supporting internal and external stakeholders to ensure satisfied users and high-quality products. This position reports to the Manager, WHODrug & Terminologies.
Among your tasks will be to:
• Validate and classify drug information from various international sources into WHODrug Global; validation of trade names, MAH information, substances, and ATC assignments
• Perform changes to existing entries in WHODrug to meet customer needs
• Participate in quality-control projects
• Code individual case safety reports (ICSRs) in VigiBase to WHODrug
• Assist in training of new staff/consultants and in ongoing dictionary developments

We are looking for dedicated and skilful candidates for this position. To be successful you will hold a degree in pharmacy or equal (receptarie), with a team-player mindset and the ability to prioritize and pay attention to details. Candidates must be fluent in written and spoken English. Additional language skills and knowledge in herbal medicine may be beneficial.
