Arriving at Stockholm Arlanda airport : getting to Uppsala

Bus 801 to Uppsala

This is the simplest and cheapest way to get to Uppsala.

Bus 801 leaves every 30 minutes (from Terminal 5 at 11 / 41 minutes past the hour from stop 9, from Terminal 2 at 16 / 46 minutes past the hour from stop 2). The journey takes around 45 minutes to central Uppsala. Please note that you must either buy the ticket beforehand in the Arrivals Hall, or the self service ticket machines at terminal 2, 4 and 5, or pay by credit card on the bus. A single bus fare is around 100 SEK (Swedish Kronor). You should alight at the last stop, in the bus station by Uppsala railway station.

Railway to Uppsala

There are trains from Arlanda to Uppsala at least every 30 minutes from early morning until midnight. The journey takes about 20 minutes to Uppsala Central. There are two types of trains, SJ and SL/UL; you cannot use tickets for one on the other. 
Follow the signs to Arlanda Central station below ‘SkyCity’ (between Terminals 4 and 5); a single fare is around 165 SEK (Swedish Kronor). (Please note that the separate ‘yellow’ Arlanda Express line only goes into Stockholm, not Uppsala.)
Uppsala also has direct and fast rail connections from central Stockholm.

Taxi from Arlanda to Uppsala

Taxis are across the road from the main exit of each terminal. Go past the taxis for Stockholm and find the line for Uppsala taxi companies.
There is a fixed price of around 500 SEK (Swedish Kronor) from Arlanda to Uppsala for up to four people.

When paying make sure that you get a taximeter slip when arriving at your destination. This slip shows the vehicle registration number along with details about the taxi company and driver, (eg, driver identification code). Save this slip, as you will need it if you forgot something in the car or you have a complaint. If you pay by credit card and there is a portable card reader in the taxi you will be given a receipt for this in addition to the taximeter slip.

From late evening to early morning there are very few taxis from Arlanda to Uppsala. You will need to pre-book at that time or take the 801 bus.

If taking a taxi from the central station in Uppsala to your hotel, the taxi rank is on the south-west side of the tracks (the side of the ticket hall and shops) in front of the old station building.
