UMC's Strategic Executive Team

Steering an entire organisation with many different focus areas in the same direction requires team work. AT UMC, the core of this work is done by the Strategic Executive Team.

The Strategic Executive Team (SET) consists of the Director and senior staff who head major work areas at UMC. SET is responsible for governance and organisational coordination, for long-term strategic plans, annual strategic objectives and the budget framework, and follow-up of key activities throughout the year.

It guides the work of UMC on a day-to-day basis, and meets four times a year to review UMC's progress in relation to its annual work plan and three-year strategic objectives. SET also prepares the financial and operational reports that are submitted to UMC's board. 

The current members of SET are:

• Dr Marie Lindquist, Director and CEO
• Dr Pia Caduff-Janosa, Chief Medical Officer and Deputy Director
• Birgitta Lindner, Chief Financial Officer
• Dr Niklas Norén, Chief Scientific Officer
• Johanna Ericsson, Chief Operating Officer

In addition to the work undertaken by SET, an extended group meets twice a year. These are planning meetings involving managers and senior staff from across UMC, who meet to align the efforts of various teams and ensure that the whole organisation is moving in the same direction.
